Through its 2019 Australia Day Fun Run, Bunbury Runners Club has raised $3000 for Conquer Cystic Fibrosis South West.
Conquer Cystic Fibrosis South West coordinator Taryn Barrett was on-hand to receive the cheque on Thursday, April 4.
"This donation is extra special because it has come from volunteers who've put in a lot of time and effort. They are now paying it forward to another volunteer organisation," she said.
"As a mother of a child with cystic fibrosis, it's something I am very passionate about.
"We need to make sure that funds are going to researchers, and that the average life expectancy continues to increase."
Australia Day Fun Run coordinator Elizabeth Larkin thanked all those who contributed to this year's event.
"The Bunbury Runners Club takes pride in giving back to the community," she said.
"Giving back to a local cause - that is in need of help - is really special."
