The State Government's Local Projects, Local Jobs initiative has provided $60,000 for a new car park at Dardanup Primary School.
The funds went towards the construction of 12 new bays and redevelopments to an adjacent footpath.
The overall project was set up to alleviate congestion and increase safety during pick-up/drop-off periods.
Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray and Dardanup Primary School principal Darryl Owen officially opened the car park earlier this month.
"As a politician, it's pleasing to be able to deliver on our promises," he said.
"It's good that the kids can now safely go to and from the school, without crossing any roads.
"Schools are very important, and it's important to support the headmasters, teachers, and students along the way."
Mr Owen said the school has received positive feedback from parents and teachers.
