I'm A Love Man ($5) claims $19,000 MGM Group Handicap

Rider Peter Hall and Brian Rogers-trained I'm A Love Man ($5) claimed an impressive win in the final race of the 2018/19 season - the 2200-metre MGM Group Handicap.

At the Bunbury Turf Club on Thursday, April 11, I'm A Love Man left the barrier before leading at the 800m mark and the final turn.

In a thrilling finish, the bay stallion crossed the line three-quarters-of-a-length ahead of second-placed Plead the Fifth.

Leading from start to finish, Al Di La ($9.50) secured the $15,340 first prize in the 1200m Sky Racing.TV Provincial Championship Heat.

Eclipsing the other nine entrants, the brown gelding finished a full 2.7 lengths ahead of Get the Vibe and Red Moon.

Amelia Park Maiden Handicap winner Lavistarr ($2.60), and rider Chris Parnham, secured the 1675m MGM Bulk Handicap.

The bay filly edged out Throwdown by a nose and Tortina by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Finishing 1.9 lengths in front of Bringon the Vevue, bay gelding Horizon ($4.20) claimed the 1000m MGM Safety Handicap.

Trevor Roche-trained My Boy Nugget ($81) beat out Vengeance of War by a nose in the 1400m MGM Storage Maiden.

Rider Steven Parnham and Pago Bay ($4.60) took out the first race of the day - the 1100m Giacci Family Maiden - ahead of Pearl Dancer.

Parnham then collected a double after leading race favourite Lookout ($1.70) to victory in the 1200m MGM Quarries Maiden.
