Volunteer South West will be celebrating National Volunteer Week from May 20.
They have teamed up with the Dolphin Discovery Centre to thank volunteers in the region with a morning tea on May 22.
Volunteer South West coordinator Shamara Williams said they were eager for not-for-profit organisations to recognise their volunteers by inviting them to the event and nominating volunteers for the this years awards.
"Our volunteers make a world of difference and we know that many organisations would need to close their doors if not for their volunteers - it is important that we recognise the hours they dedicate," she said.
The 2018 South West Volunteer of the Year Mon Barrero said volunteering had changed her life and helped her to build a network, find a job and launch her own business - Food with Passion.
"It was a privilege for me, it was beautiful that the community and the multicultural group recognised my contribution," she said.
