The South West Strikers have suffered their second consecutive loss, at the hands of YMCC on Saturday afternoon.
Playing out an exciting Promotion One - Women's clash at Bunbury Hockey Stadium, both teams moved quickly and set up several chances early on.
The Strikers landed their passes and found free players up forward.
Throughout the first half, YMCC maintained possession around the ground. Several turnovers went the visitors' way, before the side moved ahead by one.
Holding a 1-0 lead at the main break, YMCC continued its momentum and made smart decisions in the second half.
Converting one more late in the game, the visitors picked up a decisive 2-0 win in Round Seven.
The Strikers sit fourth on the ladder below Southern River, Fremantle, and YMCC.
After taking a well-deserved break this weekend, the Strikers will contend with Fremantle at Perth Hockey Stadium on Saturday, May 25.
Five South West hockey players have returned home following a remarkable 2019 Trans-Tasman Masters Challenge Country Championship campaign.
Australia retained the trophy, and claimed its seventh consecutive title, after winning 13 of the 14 divisions against New Zealand on the Gold Coast.
Australia's 40+ Women, and Boyup Brook's Jodi Nield, won gold, while the 45+ Women/Anita Scott (Bunbury) cruised to victory.
The 50+ Men/Dean Lomax (Bunbury) celebrated success, before the 55+ Men/Alan Kidd (Bunbury) got the job done.
The 65+ Men, and Collie's Neil Hayward, were also victorious.
"All three of our games were really competitive. New Zealand refused to lay down," Lomax said.
"It felt great to back up last year's world cup win.
"The players turned up fit and ready to play, and all of the teams performed really well."
Lomax has turned his attention to this year's Men's Australian Masters Championships, to be held in Bunbury and Busselton from September 20 to October 5.
In Round Six of the South West Hockey League - Women's competition, Towns/South defeated Associates 1-0, Marist took down Exies 2-0, and Boyanup scored a 2-1 win over Robins.
Associates' SWHL - Men's side suffered a frustrating 1-3 loss to Wests.
