WA Police will conduct further inquiries regarding a suspicious item located on Eaton Drive, near Forrest Highway.
The Eaton Dr/Forrest Hwy intersection was brought to a standstill on Tuesday, May 14, from 11.45am through to the mid-afternoon.
Police cordoned off the area and diverted traffic, before St John Ambulance and Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews arrived on the scene.
Bomb Squad technicians travelled down from Perth to secure the area and seize the package.
The package was wrapped in tape, with a "fuse" attached to it.
Australind Police Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Mark Smith commended the Bomb Squad, police and emergency services personnel.
"The item was taken to Perth by the Bomb Squad officers. It will be deconstructed and subject to a forensic examination," he said.
"I am currently awaiting those results."
Snr. Sgt. Smith said the package would be deconstructed within the next few days.
