With help from Christina Boag (25), the Flames moved out to a commanding lead.
Shooting one three-pointer and one two-pointer, captain Ella Kennedy put Rockingham further ahead, 26 to 20, late in the term.
Boag upped the ante in the second quarter, before Slammers' imports Makailah Dyer (29) and Brittni Montgomery (18) took charge and closed the gap.
A tight contest saw Rockingham lead by one at half time.
