Registrations for the annual Collie Adventure Race are now open, with South-West competitors being urged to put the dates in their racing calendars.
The race, hosted by the Collie Rotary Club, will be held on October 12 and 13 at Minninup Pool.
Collie Adventure Race event organiser Darren Coram said it started 19 years ago, and has grown into a multi-sport event for adults and children.
"Time is flying by this year and it's hard to believe we are in the month of May already, so we thought we would remind everyone that entries are now open," he said.
"We are very appreciative of our sponsors and supporters, and are encouraging local businesses and the community to support events such as these.
"It brings in so many families and competitors from out of town for the weekend."
South32, the Shire of Collie, Premier Coal, Bendigo Bank, Crank'n Cycles, Piavanini Welding, Guppy Smash Repairs, Collie Dominos, and Physio Group South West are the sponsors for the weekend.
Mr Coram said the Bendigo Bank Short Course provided a great opportunity for anyone wanting to compete in their first event and the Premier Coal Junior Race was popular for children.
The various races are: Shire of Collie Long Course (which includes the triathlon), the Bendigo Bank Short Course, and the Premier Coal Junior Adventure Race for children aged 12 and under.
