Michelle Verwijmeren and Terri Thomson opened the doors to The Foodey Collective in February of 2018 as part of their dream of starting the first meal kit company in Bunbury.
Like any business born from a dream, considerable work had begun before the doors swung open.
"As two busy mums with seven children and two working husbands between us, life just doesn't slow down," Michelle said
"We strived to put a well-rounded nutritious and delicious meal on the dinner table for our loved ones. After many conversations and many hours of dreaming on our daily walks, we wanted the opportunity to spend more time with our families without compromising the evening meal."
"And so Foodey was born and nurtured into a concept that we could share with other busy families."
In April 2018 the team was thrilled to roll out the first Foodey Meal Kits.
"We have always had a passion for simple wholesome and most importantly tasty food," Terri said.
"The idea of the Foodey Meal Kit was designed to excite and inspire people to enjoy meals highlighting fresh local and seasonal produce. Since inception - we dreamt, we planned, we believed, we got out of our own way and then we set forth to achieve."
The kits provide four dinners that are easy to prepare and cook.
Options are for two, four or six people and the business caters for those with allergies (gluten-free etc.).

"By conveniently having everything included in the Kit to cook at home without stress and reducing product waste was also key for our service," Michelle said.
"One of our main differences between us and the international and Perth based providers is that we source and pride ourselves on all of our ingredients being locally sourced."
"We also hand make all of our sauces, spice blends, marinades and dressings from our Beach Road premises."
"Our Foodey Meal Kit business is about supporting local producers - Buckingham Meats, Koombana Seafood, Busselton Farmers Market, for our meal kits and The Foodey Collective shines with the amazing products produced in our regions - Honey by The Herbal Emporium, Relish by The Fat Hippo, Busselton Free Range Eggs."
"There is something special about being interconnected to those around you and we are grateful to be able to showcase and support other small businesses in our region."
The Foodey Collective operates from 7am-1pm Monday to Friday serving fabulous takeaway coffee, a range of raw treats and a daily fresh lunch.
"The majority of our food served is gluten free so everyone can enjoy," Terri said.
"We also have our wall of collective products all locally sourced."
"From gorgeous plants, cleaning products, candles, pottery keep cups and magnesium products."
"We are proud to support the local economy, jobs and opportunities."
