Left battered and bruised by the Kalamunda Eastern Suns, South West Slammers' Women's side fell to its seventh loss of the season on Saturday night.
Imports Makailah Dyer (top scoring with 29) and Brittni Montgomery (9) got the Slammers off to a cracking start in the opening term.
With Katlyn Yohn (22) steering the ship, the Suns quickly found their groove. A late burst of energy saw Kalamunda claim a nine-point lead at the first change.
The Suns shot the first six points of the second term, before the home side recovered to close the gap.
Captain Courtney Bayliss (collecting a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds) and Adele East (5) were both effective around the court.
After a sublime three-point effort from Montgomery, the Slammers trailed by eight at half time.

Tensions soon reached boiling point, after Slammers' coach Nathan Grover was ejected from the game.
Unfazed by the situation, Suns' captain Jennie Rintala (17), Jewell Williams (17), and Lauren Jeffers (15) put the visitors ahead by 15 at three quarter time.
Kalamunda stood its ground and went on to claim a decisive 92 to 74 win.
New import Terrell Carter provided some much-needed support for the Slammers' Men's side against the Suns in Round 11.
The 'Man Mountain' picked up a remarkable 27 points and nine rebounds in his State Basketball League debut.

The team will face off against Australia in the Murdoch University SBL All-Star Games, for Red Frogs Australia, at the Bendat Basketball Centre next month.
Both Slammers' sides will travel to HBF Arena on Saturday, ahead of their clashes with the Joondalup Wolves.
