Landmark Country Football Championships 2019: South West claim fourth straight colts title | photos

The South West Football League claimed a staggering fourth straight colts premiership at the Landmark Country Football Championships in Mandurah over the weekend.

The green and gold side was able to extract revenge over a Great Southern Storm outfit that beat them in the round-robin stage, dominating them in the grand final to take out a 3.3 (21) to 8.9 (57) victory.

The win was spearheaded by best-on-ground medal winner Jarrad Fazioli (Eaton Boomers), but it was a complete team effort that helped ignite the dominant performance.

Bagging the first goal showed the South West was up for the fight early, but a close game looked to be on our hands when the Storm had a quick answer at the ready.

However, that wasn't to be as the SWFL colts stamped their authority on the contest, keeping the Storm from snaring another major for a long stretch of the match.

Meanwhile Jake Symington and Heath Ryder both bagged a pair for the South West, as they romped to a six-goal victory.

The SWFL now holds 16 out of a possible 22 Landmark Country Football Championships colts titles, with the win extending their current streak to four straight.

The grand final victory came on the back an impressive round-robin campaign, that saw the side topple Regional Districts, Peel and the Northern Suns to head into the grand final with a 3-1 record.

Players will now return to their local clubs with the SWFL season resuming this weekend.
