South West Strikers claim 8-0 win over Modernians in Bunbury

The South West Strikers brought their Promotion One - Women's season campaign to a close on Saturday, August 31.

Returning to the Bunbury Hockey Stadium, the Strikers notched up a resounding 8-0 victory over Modernians.

After 21 regular season rounds, the side finished fifth on the ladder with five wins, nine losses, and four draws.

Collie powerhouse Bella Ramshaw was named the Strikers' Best and Fairest for 2019.

Boyanup's Maddie Fenwick was rewarded for being the team's highest goal scorer.

In Round 15 of the South West Hockey League Men's competition, Boyanup secured the minor premiership with 2-1 win over Marist.

Wests toppled Exies 1-0, before Associates defeated wooden spooners Towns/South 2-1.

Boyanup moved through to the grand final with another 2-1 triumph over Marist.

Wests celebrated after edging out Exies 3-2 in their semi-final showdown.

Round 21 of the SWHL Women's division saw Towns/South claim a 4-1 win over Wests.

Marist defeated Capel 3-0 in Busselton, while Associates and Exies played out a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Minor premiers Boyanup crushed Towns/South 4-1 in their semi-final, after Associates beat Marist 1-0.

After both preliminary finals, Bunbury and Districts Hockey will host their annual presentation night at the Highway Hotel on Sunday.
