After more than 25 years in the classroom, former primary school teacher Debbie Staub knows the importance of keeping your cool in times of stress.
Now a qualified mindfulness and wellbeing educator, she is taking her teaching techniques to a new audience to help people achieve a calmer head space.
Debbie, who established Evolving Soul Wellness in 2018, aims to educate participants on the benefits of mindfulness, meditation and mindset.
The workshop, Strategies for Stress Management, will draw on her experience and training in research-based relaxation techniques, mindfulness education, neuro-linguistic programming, meditation and hypnotherapy.
"Through my teaching I have seen an increase in curriculum content and over-crowded classes, and it felt like there was less importance placed on checking in with the kids and their mental health," she said.
"I believe these mindfulness and wellbeing strategies can empower everyone, young and old, with resilience and self-confidence to help them in challenging times."
The workshop will cover the science behind stress and its effects on the body, and the benefits of using meditation and mindfulness as tools to overcome it.
Ms Staub will present simple techniques and tools to prevent and reduce stress and anxiety, lessons in building stronger and more effective relationships through positive communication and psychology, and strategies to calm the mind, promote wellbeing and increase gratitude, joy and happiness.
Strategies for Stress Management will be held at the Dolphin Discovery Centre on Sunday, September 22 from 9am.
