A South West police officer allegedly reported a vehicle being stolen then attempted to make an insurance claim after a traffic crash in Busselton.
Bunbury Detectives have charged a female constable from the South West District following an investigation into an incident that occurred on July 7, 2019.
It will be alleged the officer, whilst off-duty, was the driver of a vehicle involved in a traffic crash on Bussell Highway near Peel Terrace.
It will be further alleged that the officer reported the vehicle as being stolen, then attempted to make an insurance claim.
The officer has been charged with creating false belief and attempt intent to defraud or deceit, she will appear before the Busselton Magistrates Court on September 17, 2019.
The officer has been stood down from operational duties.
