A judge has told a "princess" who admitted possessing drugs to forget her aspirations of a modelling career and do some hard work, maybe making coffees.
The colourful Victorian County Court case of former model Jonita Ragaisyte on Friday revealed that just months after being busted with drugs, she was nabbed with meth in her Chanel handbag while visiting her bodybuilder boyfriend in a Melbourne prison.
The 27-year-old has pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing a drug of dependence after police in 2017 found an "Aladdin's cave" of drugs at the apartment she shared with her then-boyfriend Cemre Volkan.
Prosecutors want Ragaisyte to serve a "short sharp" prison sentence but her lawyer Megan Casey is hoping for a fine, likely to be paid by Ragaisyte's parents in Lithuania.
"She has worked previously as a model and when she is in better physical health it is also anticipated that that will be open to her again," Ms Casey said of her client's future.
"Let's lower the guns to a more reasonable trajectory - pulling coffees in a cafe might be more achievable," Judge Christopher Ryan responded.
"She is clearly an intelligent woman, but she wouldn't be the first young woman in Victoria with tertiary qualifications to find herself behind an espresso machine from eight o'clock in the morning till six o'clock at night six days a week."
Ragaisyte has admitted possessing the GHB-alternative butanediol as well as n-ethylhexedrone, a drug similar to methamphetamine.
Volkan was jailed last year for drug trafficking and possession after police found cocaine, GHB, ketamine, LSD, MDMA, steroids and testosterone at the Docklands apartment.
It was revealed on Friday that Ragaisyte was also found with methamphetamine while visiting Volkan at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.
"The prison officer conducted a bag and possession check, in her Chanel bag appeared a zip lock bag of what appeared to be methamphetamine," prosecutor Richard Pirrie said.
Ms Casey said her client was fined without conviction over the matter, noting "she had forgotten that it was in her handbag".
The court heard Ragaisyte came to Australia from Lithuania on a student visa in 2013 and three years later began dating Volkan, known as Red Ra in bodybuilding circles, who previously dated socialite Brynne Edelstein.
Since Volkan was remanded in custody, Ragaisyte struggled with anxiety, depression and homelessness.
She has not found favour with Judge Ryan who has criticised the model for looking bored in court.
"It does your cause no good to sit and stare at the ceiling as if this is all too boring because you just might find yourself bored at Dame Phyllis Frost prison for women," he said.
On Friday he described her as "a bit of a princess" and was later stunned to learn she was not cooperative during an assessment for a community corrections order.
"She is not a child at kindergarten playing in the sandpit, she's seen what's behind that door back there and she's looking at more of it and yet she refuses to apply her mind - which I'm told is capable of dealing with tertiary studies," he said.
