A MAN charged with vandalising the Dog on the Tuckerbox earlier this year has pleaded not guilty to one count of destroy or damage property.
Benjamin Gow, of Estella, appeared in Wagga Local Court before Magistrate Imad Abdul-Karim on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old was charged on July 29 after the iconic tourist attraction was damaged about 4pm on July 27.
Mr Gow is accused of dislodging the dog and tuckerbox from their base, causing them to fall into a surrounding fountain, at the Gundagai rest area where the statue is publicly displayed.
In court on Wednesday, Mr Abdul-Karim ordered a brief of evidence to be served on Mr Gow and his defence lawyer by October 23.
Mr Gow's bail continues and he is set to reappear in Wagga Local Court on November 6.
