Millbridge's Dudley Greathead is looking to make changes that will benefit the Shire of Dardanup and its residents.
He and 10 other candidates are going head-to-head in this year's Local Government Elections.
"I am a long time resident of the shire. My children go to local schools and we have been active members of local sporting groups," Mr Greathead said.
"As an elected member of council, I firmly believe my role is not to push my own agenda, but to push for the needs of the people I represent.
"With a passion for service to the community and a genuine care for the neighbourhood my children are growing up in, I am excited and motivated to work with council and the community to see the shire thrive."
Mr Greathead believes the shire and the community can find new, improved ways of working together.
"My personal passion is to ensure that we go back to being grassroots communities, where your neighbour was your friend and part of your support group," he said.
"In all matters presented to council, I will be looking at environmental sustainability, financial impact, and the impact on our community to ensure a balance can be found.
"Going forward, I will be working towards collaborative growth for all regions within the shire.
"With our diverse communities and needs, we need to work together to support growth through local employment and community development."
