South West Phoenix's Under-13s - Division Two side entertained Inglewood FC last month.
Setting up a familiar 4-2-3-1 formation, Phoenix got the ball out wide and then in behind the full back. They then whipped the ball into the box, and to the on-running attackers.
Phoenix had numerous chances throughout the first half, but could not break the deadlock.
Inglewood were superb on the counter and kept possession well, stretching Phoenix a few times and getting in behind.
Some magical goalkeeping prevented Phoenix from being 1-0 down at half time.
The second half continued as the first finished, with both teams having chances but failing to convert.
With the game looking set for a draw, Phoenix had one final throw of the dice.
Inglewood's attack broke down, before Phoenix re-gained possession and moved down the field.
After crossing the ball into the box, a perfect header saw Phoenix claim a 1-0 lead.
With just a minute to play, there was no time for Inglewood to hit back.
Phoenix secured another three points and the championship title.
The squad wrapped up its season with a 2-0 win over Murdoch University Melville and a 1-2 defeat to Balcatta FC.
Phoenix's U14s - Division Two side finished second on the ladder with five wins, two draws, and three losses from 10 rounds.
The U15s - Division Three side earned the championship title, while the U16s - Division Three team finished second behind Balcatta.
