The Shire of Capel and the local community are eagerly looking forward to the 2019 Captivate Capel festival.
Held on Saturday, October 26 from 10am to 2pm, the event will make full use of the newly completed Capel Civic Precinct.
The family-friendly, drug and alcohol free festival will showcase some of the region's best artists, performers, and live musicians.
The event will also include skating workshops, face painting, flash mobs, food trucks, and market stalls.
Capel arts educator and installation artist Nathan Gardiner will conduct a canvas shoe painting workshop on the day.
With a career based in fashion and creative industries, Mr Gardiner has worked in Los Angeles, the United Kingdom, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
The artist now works for the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, FACES Bunbury Fashion Runaway, and the Stirling Street Arts Centre.
"This is a really popular workshop," he said.
"The festival is great - it provides an opportunity to showcase Capel and to bring people together.
"We're encouraging all community members to come along, experience the new precinct, and give everything a go."
Encouraging creativity, Captivate Capel is proudly supported by the shire and the State Government.
Back in April, the festival was awarded a $21,000 Lotterywest Grant.
Two other shire-led events - the Fact or Faction Readers and Writers Hub and the Dalyellup Community Christmas Festival - also received Lotterywest funding.
