The City of Bunbury and the community are celebrating one of the greatest accomplishments in the town's history.
Led by Mayor Gary Brennan, the city held a special event on Tuesday, October 8 - celebrating 40 years since Bunbury was recognised as a city.
Back in 1976, Bunbury had 20,000 residents living within its boundaries. Three years later, it became the first recognised city in the South-West.
"Bunbury has experienced numerous changes over the past 40 years," Mr Brennan said.
"During that time, we've seen a lot of redevelopment projects take place in our great city.
"It really is a wonderful paradise."
From now up until November 9, the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre is holding an exhibition to celebrate the town's achievements over the past four decades.
Items will also be on display in the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery, Bunbury Visitor Centre, South West Sports Centre, Administration Building, and Bunbury Public Library.
