Colts travelled to the Leschenault Leisure Centre for their showdown against the Green Caps in Round One.
Leschenault opening batsman Kurt D'Agostino claimed 17 runs (including two fours), before being caught by Cruize Ciallella.
Fellow opener Justin Woods posted 40 (including two sixes), while Thomas Buchanan made eight.
Stuart Denison and Nic Rep (both 15) guided Leschenault to a total of 7/113 from 20 overs.
Ciallella was dismissed for seven, before fellow opener Joe Barningham (3/9 from three overs) earned a respectable 27 off 33 balls.
After the quick dismissals of Vikramjit Singh (two), Tyler King (three), and Josh Topliss (six), Colts wicketkeeper Brian Hughes notched up 11 off 14.
The reigning premiers were then dismissed for 90 with five balls remaining.
Marist cruised to an easy five-wicket win over Hay Park.

Beavers' wicketkeeper Jamie Martin (47 off 23, including five fours and three sixes), captain Clint Hewson (26), Liam Renton (23), and Troy Lewis (23no) all excelled with the bat.
Going after Eaton's 6/149, Colts wicketkeeper Paul Jones (21), Singh (27), Barningham (19), and Ciallella (17) made an impression.
