South West Police are busy sifting through witness statements after a man was allegedly seen driving erratically on Forrest Highway, hitting other vehicles and swerving in and out of traffic.
On Friday, October 11, about 12pm, the silver two-door Hyundai was seen on Forrest Highway travelling south towards Bunbury.
According to police, witnesses reported seeing the male driver swerving in and out of traffic, hitting road signs and colliding with other vehicles.
It is understood a brown dog was also in the vehicle.
South West Traffic officer in charge Craig Clarke confirmed the man was spoken to on the day and his vehicle had been impounded for reckless driving.
However, at this stage, police confirmed the alleged offender had not yet been charged.
Sergeant Clarke said the team had received more than 12 calls regarding the incident, which indicated just how alarming it had been.
"We have not charged the man as we have had a number of witness statements and more than 12 calls over the incident," he said.
"That is a lot.
"Typically, we'd only get two or three. To have had that many [reports] just goes to show how poor the standard of driving was.
"We have also had a number of statements come through on Crime Stoppers."
Police are expected to arrest and charge the man in the coming days.
Anyone with information or dash-cam footage they believe may assist South West Traffic in its investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
