The South West Indian Group is preparing to host the eighth annual Diwali Festival of Lights, a vibrant celebration of culture, happiness, harmony and peace.
This year's event will be held on Saturday, November 16, from 3pm at the South West Italian Club and features a fashion parade, fusion dances, music performances, multiple stalls, belly dancers and a jaw-dropping fire performance.
The theme of this year's festival will be 'Bollywood, Hollywood, Kollywood' and represents the amalgamation of multiple entertainment industries.
The festival, often referred to as the Festival of Lights, represents the triumph of good over evil and includes the lighting of the Diya lamp.
Attendees will be treated to an Indian Vegetarian Buffet Dinner, supplied by Spice Journey, following the performances and will go into the draw to win a range of prizes.
Special prizes will also be on offer for those named the best dressed.
South West Indian Group president Dr Parthasarathy Ramesh said tickets to the popular show had been known to sell out and urged the community to get in quick.
Tickets are now on sale from $10 to $20, with free entry for those under the age of five.
