Athletes of varying skill levels are getting ready for the next event on the South-West's running calendar.
Runners will come together at the Eaton Foreshore for the inaugural Dash for Cash 2020 on January 4.
Starting at 7.30am, the 10-kilometre handicapped event will see participants run through Eaton, Pelican Point, and Koombana before finishing up at Queens Gardens.
Each participant will be allocated their own start time by the appointed handicapper.
The winner will be awarded $1000, while the second, third, fourth, and fifth-placed runners will receive $500, $250, $100, and $50 respectively.
Dash for Cash 2020 race director Darren Coram is encouraging athletes from all over the state to sign up.
"We sought to create something that was different to all the other running events in Bunbury," he said.
"The event will cater to runners of all ages and abilities. Several junior runners have already signed up."
Mr Coram said he was looking forward to seeing the event grow exponentially over the next few years.
According to event organisers, the field will be capped at 250 entrants. Runners must be 14 years of age or over to enter.
