The Parks and Wildlife Service has confirmed the closure of the Wellington National Park as emergency services personnel continue to battle a bushfire in the Shire of Collie.
The bushfire update was issued by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services about 11am on December 18, with the park likely to remain closed until Monday, December 23.
A number of campgrounds have been closed, including the Potters Gorge Campground, Honeymoon Pool Campground, Ngland Boodja Campsite, Nyingarn Campsite, Arcadia and Lyall's Mill Campsites and Stones Brook Campground.
The Munda Biddi Trail between Ferguson Road and Coalfields Highway, Mount Lennard Mountain Bike Circuit, Wiilman Bilya Trail and the Bibbulman Track Wellington Spur Trail from Wellingtom Dam to Yabberup campsite have also been closed.
Wellington Dam Road from River Road to Pile Road, Lennard Drive and Falcon Road will remain closed.
People are urged to avoid the area, follow the advice of Parks and Wildlife staff and observe signage.
Those already in the area are urged to leave for a safer place.
