2019 has felt like a very busy year.
In some ways in have been a bit of a contradictory year of ups and downs in that I know many people have been struggling financially while at the same time we have made significant advancements improving services and infrastructure in Bunbury and the region.
The outcome, I think, is that everyone has worked hard this year and it is now time to make sure you take advantage of the season to relax and recharge ready for the new year.
That is my wish for everyone, that you have time to sit back and unwind while enjoying the company of family and friends.
I am excited that this will be my first Christmas with a grandchild and that is a great reminder of the importance of family, of coming together and making memories that will last a lifetime.
While this is my wish for everyone we know for some people it won't be possible.
We must thank all about service personnel who sacrifice their time with family over Christmas to help keep us all healthy and safe.
We must also recognise not everyone has family to turn to at this time of year.
If this is true for you I hope there are other relationships in your life that provide you the support and comfort we all need.
I wish everyone a very happy Christmas.
