A 25-year-old man who allegedly lit a bushfire in Eaton last month will return to court later this week.
Brandon Ray Hall, 25, faced Bunbury Magistrates Court on January 10 over one count of wilfully lighting a fire likely to injure or damage.
South-West Police allege Mr Hall deliberately set fire to a patch of grass near the Collie River, on December 20.
A member of the public saw the flames and contacted the local emergency services. The blaze was extinguished a short time later.
Seeking to make a bail application, Mr Hall will return to court on January 17. A plea has not yet been made.
The maximum sentence for this type of offence is 20 years in prison.
