A blistering finish saw Michael Lane-trained You Am I ($13) prevail in the $25,000 Austbrokers Handicap (1675 metres) on Thursday afternoon, at the Bunbury Turf Club.
Led by rider Kyra Yuill, the chestnut gelding quickly moved up from third to first on the home straight.
You Am I crossed the line a full 2.3 lengths ahead of second-placed Spirit and Fire.
Earlier in the day, William Pike and race favourite Midnight Blue ($1.90) recovered to win in the 2200m CGU Maiden.
Pike later guided bay gelding Come Right Back ($3.20, race favourite) to victory in the $20,000 Chubb Maiden (1400m).
Race favourite Comfort Me ($2.80) led throughout the 1100m Blue Zebra Insurance Maiden, crossing a short-half-head in front of Dreamtime Diva.
After a stellar comeback, Fairview ($2.80, race favourite) beat out Rewrite the Stars by a long-head in the 1200m MGIB Travel Handicap.
The Bunbury Turf Club will go all-out for its next race meeting on February 27.
