After many years of hard work and perseverance, two of Bunbury's best hockey players are getting ready to represent Australia on the world stage.
Respectively, Katie Ernst and Logan Burgemeister have been selected to play for Country Australia's Women's and Men's Open teams in April.
Travelling to Malaysia and Singapore, both sides will face off against some of the continent's best hockey teams.
The pair will also get to enjoy a "one-of-a-kind" cultural tour of both countries.
"We are both really excited...this is a very big opportunity," Burgemeister said.
"We're looking forward to seeing all of the different playing styles and meeting the other players."
Ernst and Burgemeister were chosen based on their incredible efforts in last year's Australian Country Championships, in Shepparton, Victoria.
A 'Bogan Quiz Night' will be held at the Bunbury Hockey Stadium at 6.30pm on February 28, with the proceeds going to Ernst's travelling costs.
Tickets for next week's event are still available.
