After 13 months in custody, Bunbury man Craig Leslie Bastin was found guilty and released from custody with serious fines.
Bastin changed his not guilty pleas to guilty in the Bunbury Magistrates Court on March 13 for three counts of trespass, criminal damage and fraud.
The court heard that on November 8, 2017, Bastin trespassed on two properties in College Grove and a property in Carey Park and damaged one of the College Grove properties.
The court also heard that on November 21, 2018 he used a victim's debit card to fraudulently purchase tobacco at an East Bunbury SmokeMart.
By pleading guilty to the five charges, Bastin breached a suspended imprisonment order that was imposed on January 16, 2017 for breaching a violence restraining order.
Magistrate Belinda Coleman gave leniency on Bastin given the length of time he had remained in custody on the charges.
"You've been in custody on these charges since (February 9, 2019), as well as six days in custody in 2017 on these charges...this is a particular sentencing exercise that is unique because you've spent so much time in custody," she said.
Ms Coleman sentenced Bastin to six months imprisonment for the fraud charge, and four months each for the trespass and damage charges to be served concurrently.
She also backdated the imprisonment from February, meaning Bastin had completed his imprisonment at the time of sentencing.
Ms Coleman also chose not to require him to serve time for the breach of suspended imprisonment.
"Because you have spent so much time in custody on remand I am persuaded it would be unjust for me to require you to serve the term, so therefore I make no order on the breach of suspended imprisonment," she said
Bastin was free to leave custody following the sentencing and ordered to pay $1,000 in fines.
