Department of Health confirms eight new COVID-19 cases overnight

The State Government is urging all Western Australians to exercise caution, after another eight COVID-19 cases were confirmed overnight.

Seven of the eight new cases are from the metropolitan area, with one from the Kimberley. All eight cases range from 24 to 78 years of age.

As of April 2, the Department of Health has recorded 400 confirmed cases and two deaths in WA.

Five are from cruise ships, two are from overseas travel, and one is a close contact of confirmed case.

Fifty-six confirmed patients are currently in Perth metropolitan hospitals, while 15 are in the ICU.
