A 23-year-old man accused of deliberately coughing and sneezing at hospital staff has been refused bail.
Police allege Terrence Rudolph Rodd committed the offences at Bunbury Regional Hospital on April 7, 2020.
It is alleged Mr Rodd presented to the hospital's emergency department with a respiratory condition on April 6.
After being admitted for medical treatment, Mr Rodd was told he would have to stay in isolation within his hospital room pending test results.
Around 2.30pm the following day, the accused allegedly became increasingly agitated due to still being in isolation.
He allegedly exited his room and approached one of the nursing stations, manned by four nurses at the time, and deliberately coughed and sneezed repeatedly in the nurses' direction.
Mr Rodd was charged with four counts of assaulting a person working in a hospital and faced Perth Magistrates Court on April 8.
Magistrate Mark Millington refused bail and Mr Rodd was remanded in custody to reappear at Bunbury Magistrates Court on April 9.
On this day, Mr Rodd faced court via video link from Bunbury Regional Prison.
The court was told that Mr Rodd was in isolation and therefore unable to attend the hearing in person.
Defence counsel Fiona Walsh, who appeared via audio link, requested a two-week adjournment for her client to seek legal advice.
"I haven't spoken to him yet," Ms Walsh said.
Magistrate Linda Keane adjourned the case to Bunbury Magistrates Court on April 23.
In a separate matter last week, WA Police charged a 34-year-old Spearwood man for breaching self-quarantine requirements.
Police allege the man caught a taxi to Fremantle, after he was ordered to self isolate in a Perth hotel for two weeks.
Police found the man in Fremantle later that day. He was then charged and remanded into custody.
