Usually May in Australia means competition season with thousands of young performers lacing up their ballet shoes, tuning instruments, warming up their voices and preparing to hit the stage in their local eisteddfod.
But this year all competitions are cancelled for the foreseeable future leaving thousands of youngsters isolated at home and dreaming of the stage.
Two Brisbane teachers have come up with a solution for young Australians desperate to perform - the very first online Australian Arts Festival.

There will be sections for dance, singing, piano, musical theatre, speech and drama.
Young performers will have the chance to win a national championship and receive valuable feedback from industry professionals including Matt Lee, Samantha Dodemaide and Mark Hill.
Nominations close on May 15 and material has to be submitted by June to the Australian Festival of Performance Arts.
