Gardeners and lovers of native flora rejoice, Geographe Community Landcare Nursery will reopen to retail customers on July 1, 2020.
Nursery coordinator Rod Cary said they would also be open every Saturday in September to retail customers.
"That is new for us, we have never done that before, it was in response to repeated requests to open on a Saturday," he said.
"We will open in September as a trial, which I suspect will be big and crazy busy."
The nursery focus on flora which is native to the southwest and lower southwest regions of WA.
They also grow other flora from wider parts of WA but only in small numbers.
"Currently, I have someone picking up some plants for Golden Valley, which are principally from the Goldfields and the South Coast," Mr Cary said.
"We grow them because they are interesting."
The nursery propagate plants from the coast, wetlands, jarrah and marri forests and plants from further afield.
"We have around 300 plant species on our wholesale list, but we would grow more than 500 species," Mr Cary said.
"We might grow one species one every five years, but our regular wholesale list we have every year, and we pretty much sell out every year."
The team are currently in the process of creating a demonstration wetland at the nursery.
Mr Cary said the purpose of the wetland was to plant sizable patches of each main reed species they stocked at the nursery.
"People will be able to see what a clump of it looks like," he said.
"We also want to measure the nutrients running out of the nursery and measure the nutrients running out of the reed beds at the other end.
"We want to show that the reeds will strip nutrients.
"We will also have some hedging and ornamental trees in the demonstration plot which we think will be pretty flash."
The project has been funded by Water Corp.
The nursery is located at 366 Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Ambergate.
