The Busselton Magpies hosted the Carey Park Panthers at the Geographe Leisure Centre for their second game of the season.
In League the Panthers challenged the Maggies in the first quarter, matching them goal for goal with their tight knit forward line.
With an unchanged line up to each side at the start of the second term, the Magpies put their foot down and didn't ease off the gas.
In attack, the onslaught from Courtney Webb in GA combining with Maia Bratton in GS, was a tantalising show of strong front space positioning, movement and awareness.
The Magpies pushed away to a healthy 14 goal lead by half time with the score 32-18.
The third term played out similar to the second, Taneika Handley's experience and pace down the length of the court in centre was a reliable outlet.
From defensive turnovers and wit around the offensive circle, Handley's precise placement of the ball for her shooters helped extend the lead to 47-22.
Emma Borrinelli in GK, channelled her big red energy and was a fortress in the back line, never letting an easy ball in.
With the help of Tamara Thornley playing an absolute blinder in GD, the Magpies held the Panthers to a mere four goal quarter.
Phoebe Pethybridge in WA didn't quit, offering and re-offering with defender splitting leads through attack.
While the Panthers frustration resulted in easy turnovers from Ritson in WD, Coach Bratton took to the sidelines in the final quarter to spectate her flock, subbing on Che Harcombe for her first taste of league netball.
A relentless display of full court defense and accurate shooting resulted in a convincing win, 52-28 to the Magpies.
The Magpies 18s had a shaky start with Carey Park shooting the first goal and turning over the next centre pass and scoring again, Asha Hughes and Nikira Brock battled a very tight Carey Park defence to get the Magpies back into the game.
Carey Park continued to punish the Magpies with accurate shooting and long bombs to lead by 3 at the first break.
It was a topsy turvy second quarter with Montana Tenardi making a difference in the defensive circle with strong rebounds.
Felicity Watson, Sally Conroy and Elle Mullumby put the pressure on in the midcourt which was rewarded with great teamwork from Jordie Harcombe and Hughes in the circle who converted their shots putting the Magpies in front with a half time score line of 25-23.
Carey Park came out firing in the third quarter after bringing on their League shooter.
The Magpies were rattled early with a number of punishing turnovers and suddenly Carey Park were in front by three.
There were glimpses of magic with Ella Griffin's intercepts and fast play down to the shooters to bring the deficit back to a mere goal difference.
Carey Park utilised a number of footwork calls to take the lead out again to three goals. Harcombe might have a few bruises from the offensive circle but managed to score seconds before the buzzer to see the Magpies down 37-41.
Three fast goals in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter saw the Panthers lead out to seven goals.
A couple of long bombs by Brock reduced their lead to five and a win seemed possible again before the opposition's defensive pressure increased resulting in numerous turnovers and combined with their accurate shooting resulted in the final score 46-54 to Carey Park.
The Magpies travel to Eaton next Saturday to play the Boomers with the 18 & Under playing at 1.15pm followed by League at 2.45pm.
The 18s have a double header and travel to Harvey on the Sunday with a 1030am game.
