The Stanley Road Waste Management Facility will begin refunding eligible containers at 9am on October 1, as part of the new Containers for Change scheme.
Bunbury Harvey Regional Council chief executive Tony Battersby said the scheme presented a great opportunity to make real environmental change when it comes to litter.
"It's also a great opportunity for community and sporting groups to fundraise and we will work with groups to ensure it is seamless for them to return their containers," he added.
WA's Container Deposit Scheme will see millions of bottles and cans diverted from landfill each year.
Eligible aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers between 150 millilitres and 3 litres can be returned for a refund.
"Individuals who want to donate their funds or part of their funds to a community or sporting can do so at Stanley Road," Mr Battersby said.
"Bunbury Harvey Regional Council staff are available to assist community and sporting groups with social media tiles and groups who would like to be on a donation register."
All customers will enter the site via the weighbridge, driving around to the refund point where they will either drop their bags with a Scheme ID or wait for their containers to be counted to receive their refund.
The facility will also be offering access to the site for businesses and groups with large volumes of containers outside of opening hours to ensure they are not held up.
