Overcoming major hurdles due to COVID-19, the Bunbury Runners Club finally got the chance to host the 2020 Vestrum Women's Fun Run on October 4.
Female runners and walkers from around the South-West came together at the Leschenault Inlet on Sunday morning.
The 10-kilometre Run participants set off first, completing two laps of the course before triumphantly crossing the finish line.
Carolyn Mader took out this year's 10km Run in a time of 00:41:41, ahead of Susanne Woodall (00:42:24) and Caitlin Graham (00:43:31).
Spurred on by a crowd of friends and family members, the 5km runners and walkers all finished up around 9am.
The 5km Run/Walk saw Tenielle Beven (00:20:59) cross the line in front of RSM's Kate Peacock (00:21:56) and FFP Team Building's Kendall Lewis (00:22:59).
Vestrum Women's Run Fun co-organiser Fiona Collins thanked the participants and sponsors for helping to make this year's event possible.
"We started planning for this event back in January. We had an initial date of early August, which we delayed," she said.
"It's very much an event for women and girls, with a focus on participation...people of any ability, shape, age, size etc. can take part."
The Bunbury Runners Club is now looking ahead to the 2020 Australia Day Fun Run and next year's 3 Waters Running Festival.
