Shire of Dardanup is calling on all young residents who have a passion for events and youth issues to sign up for a Youth Advisory Group.
The shire are on the hunt for dynamic, creative and passionate residents aged 12-24.
Once established the Youth Advisory Group will meet throughout the year to work on ideas for school holiday activities, community events and generally making the shire a great place to live for young people.
Teenagers Tiarn Plunkett, Taya Fry and Shelby-Irene Gray have already signed up to be part of the group.
Fifteen year-old Taya said she originally inquired about joining the City of Bunbury's youth advisory group last year when she was at a protest.
But the age requirements are different and she was too young, so when she heard the Shire of Dardanup was starting one Taya jumped at the chance.
"I want to get involved in the community and meet new people," she said.
Living in the small town of Burekup, Tiarn said she wanted to bring more things like events to the town.
As part of Youth Week, the shire will be hosting a Youthfest in Burekup on April 10 which the girls will be helping to organise.
Nineteen year old Shelby-Irene said she had a tough time in high school and wanted to be part of something that would help others out.
"Helping youth out is important to me," she said.

Shire of Dardanup president Mick Bennett said the group members would gain experience in things like gathering community feedback, running events and generally building stronger communities.
"Our new YAG will also provide feedback and recommendations to Council on issues relating to young people in the Shire," Cr Bennett said.
"We hope this will not only be a lot of fun for those young people who decide to get involved but something that will also benefit them in the future through the leadership and advocacy skills and experience they develop along the way."
There's no limit on how many members the group can have and the first meeting was on March 2 in Eaton with more lined up for Burekup and Dardanup.
