A convicted paedophile has been taken back into custody following an extensive manhunt after he allegedly skipped court.
Police were on Friday night desperately trying to find 64-year-old Alan David Ratcliff who was last seen in Thornlie at 7.05am on Friday.
A warrant was issued for his arrest after he allegedly failed to appear at his Supreme Court hearing on Friday morning.
A police spokesperson said on Saturday he was arrested by Eucla police, based about 1400km from Perth near the South Australian border, about 4am this morning.
He is in custody and will be escorted to Perth to front court, police said.
