LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS:
* Metropolitan Perth and the Peel region will go into a three-day lockdown from midnight on Friday after a hotel quarantine outbreak led to community transmission.
* Anzac Day dawn services will be cancelled and all people in the affected regions must wear masks when leaving their homes from 6pm on Friday.
* "I know this is hard to take and I wish we didn't need to be doing this," Mr McGowan told reporters. "I hope we can keep it to three days only".
* Shops and venues will close for three days, though weddings and funerals will be allowed to proceed with a maximum of 100 guests all wearing masks.
* Mr McGowan has asked Prime Minister Scott Morrison for international arrivals into Perth to be temporarily halved from just over 1000 a week to just over 500.
* Premier Mark McGowan says the lockdown is a necessary measure after two people spent days in the community while infectious. One is a man who stayed in hotel quarantine before flying to Melbourne. He tested positive in Melbourne so is counted as a Victorian case. He completed 14 days' quarantine at Perth's Mercure Hotel before returning to Melbourne on Qantas flight QF778 on Wednesday.
* The second infected person is a woman the man stayed with in Perth after he left hotel quarantine. Her positive test result came through on Friday afternoon, Mr McGowan said.
* The Victorian man's positive test result has ended the state's eight-week run without a locally-acquired case.
* Australia has left the door open to even harsher inbound travel restrictions for India as hotel quarantine cases continue to rise.

* A group of Sydney dock workers are sweating on the results of their coronavirus tests after boarding a ship now found to have been carrying infected sailors. The Inge Kosan, an LPG tanker, was docked in Port Botany for a day from March 31 after arriving from the Papua New Guinea capital of Port Moresby.
AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:
* Australia reported two locally acquired virus cases on Friday - a Melbourne man who travelled from Perth and a WA woman with whom he stayed before leaving Perth.
There were 38 new overseas-acquired cases in quarantine: 13 in the Northern Territory, 18 in NSW, four in Queensland, two in Victoria, one in South Australia.
* The national death toll is 910: Victoria 820, NSW 56, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 7, SA 4, ACT 3 (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).
