THE BUNBURY Repertory Club are calling on all playwrights throughout the South West to submit 10-minute plays for the theatre's Christmas Wonderland performance in December.
The locally written plays should be within the theme of Christmas and be family friendly, non-religious and in the genres of drama or comedy.
Bunbury Repertory Club Director Charise D'Ath said the community theatre always loved to incorporate locals in what they were doing.
"For our Christmas Wonderland event this year we thought it would be wonderful if we could include the work of local playwrights so they could have the opportunity to see their work performed," Ms D'Ath said.
"As the audience is usually young children to adults, we'd like work that everyone can enjoy. We're definitely looking for light hearted, sweet, family stories."
Any creativity, particularly where you can express yourself and get involved in a live performance is so exciting and engaging

After holding the Christmas Wonderland event for 2020 under Covid-19 restrictions, Ms D'Ath said the 2021 event will host the biggest, indoor Christmas display in the South West.
Six shows will be performed over two weeks, with audiences having the opportunity to come in and out of performances whilst enjoying the other attractions and festivities on offer.
"We'd like both established or emerging writers from all over WA to submit, including Perth and Mandurah and down to Margaret River. This is about providing opportunities for local scriptwriters to get their work seen," Ms D'Ath said.
"Any creativity particularly where you can express yourself and get involved in a live performance is so exciting and engaging. Going to a performance and being immersed in a story that's unfolding in front of you live is just great."
Plays should have no more than six characters and be submitted to the Bunbury Repertory Club by the end of August.
