Spinner Rashid Khan is returning to the BBL with the Adelaide Strikers after stepping down as Afghanistan's Twenty20 captain for the looming World Cup.
Rashid has signed for a fifth BBL season with the Strikers, despite overtures from rival franchises for the services of the brilliant legspinner.
"I won't leave this club," he said in a statement on Monday.
"I love Adelaide, the fans, the team ... it is a great honour for me to be playing for the Strikers."
The 22-year-old, ranked the third-best T20 bowler in the world, was appointed as Afghanistan's captain in the short format in July.
But Rashid quit the captaincy just moments after the Afghanistan Cricket Board named its 18-man squad for next month's T20 World Cup starting October 17 in the UAE.
The World Cup squad was the first Afghani team named under the new Taliban regime.
Rashid resigned as skipper, saying he should have been involved in the selection of the squad.
The Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan has cast doubt over the national team's scheduled away Test match in Australia in November.
Cricket Australia has warned the Test will be scrapped if the Taliban follows through on a pledge to ban women from playing cricket.
The stance has also prompted the International Cricket Council to discuss revoking Afghanistan's full member status of the sport's governing body.
