As part of the City of Bunbury's City Centre Action Plan it has released concept designs for changes to Haley Street, Prinsep Street and Carmody Place.

The City Centre Action Plan was published in 2020 and has 11 objectives which fall under four values of connected, colourful, capable and confident.

The new concept for these streets are a part of the first objective which is to 'integrate, enhance and effectively maintain all movement networks throughout the city centre'.

The city paid Perth based consultants, GHD Woodland to create a design which would help liven up the entry into Victoria Street.

City of Bunbury acting chief executive officer Gary Barbour said there was $450,000 in the 2021-22 budget to undertake the design and reconstruction of the roundabout.

This project proposes new streetscape and road layout design to enhance the amenity and appeal of the area and increase the functionality of the road and pedestrian network.

The community consultation on the design plans have included the city posting about it on its Facebook page, three pop-up sessions at a local cafe and an online survey.

Mr Barbour said the consultation had been extensive including stakeholder engagement and viewings of the design at city's administration building and library.

People can vote in the online survey until the end of September.

The publicly available plan shows how Prinsep Street could have two raised footpaths, two alfresco zones with shade, landscape upgrade and reconfigured entrance CBD entrance.

The next step is for a detailed design to be released following community feedback.
