To celebrate Christmas for 2021, Bunbury Mail journalist Pip Waller caught up with some of the year four students at Capel Primary School to find out what Christmas time means to them.
Here's what Abby, Jack, Lawson and Lexie had to say about their favourite holiday of the year:
Abby Fettus
What do you think of when you hear the word 'Christmas'?
I think of Christmas dinner, Christmas trees with the bright star shining on the top and the Christmas lights decorating the outside of your house.
What do you hope Santa brings you for Christmas?
A mini-lop rabbit. If it's a girl I'm going to name it Marshmallow.
What does Christmas mean to you?
It means opening presents on Christmas morning, having a big Christmas lunch and dinner and spending time with my family.
Jack Padman
What do you think of when you hear the word 'Christmas'?
Christmas, carrots and food.
What do you hope Santa brings you for Christmas?
A PlayStation, an iPad and free food.
What does Christmas mean to you?
Presents, food and more food! My favourite Christmas food is pavlova, it's so good and delicious.
Lawson Sleer
What do you think of when you hear the word 'Christmas'?
Santa, reindeers and a Christmas tree.
What do you hope Santa brings you for Christmas?
A budgie, a cage for the budgie and my own dog.
What does Christmas mean to you?
Catching up with the family, seeing my nephew and my niece and going down to the basketball court near my house and playing basketball with my older brothers.
Lexie O'Niell
What do you think of when you hear the word 'Christmas'?
What lucky things I think I'm going to get and I think about oh what if I'm going to get something from the apple store! Or what if I get a $1000 voucher for Horseland!
What do you hope Santa brings you for Christmas?
A new gel pad, a new halter and saddle pads for my horse, and a proper stable.
What does Christmas mean to you?
Getting to know everyone in the family, seeing everyone we haven't seen in a year, getting presents, and basically everything!
