Sunday saw the running of the annual Mandurah State Interclub Triathlon Championships, putting 340 athletes to the test over a swim/bike/run format along Doddies Beach. Photos by Mandurah Tri Club.
The sun was out early and swim conditions were near perfect for a non-wetsuit 750m Terry White Chemmart Halls Head swim.
The Giant Mandurah cycle leg was two laps and wove around Blue Bay and inland for a total of 20kms.
The Running Centre run leg of a short 5kms then completed the event.
Athletes from all over Western Australia as far south as Esperance, and north of Perth, descend on this yearly event in large numbers to battle it out competing for their clubs rather than individual glory.
Each finisher earned points towards the Rob Pickard trophy, which covers the most entrants and finishing positions.
The Fremantle Triathlon Club took out the Rob Pickard Trophy being the champion club of the day.
UWA Triathlon Club won the Presidents Cup for being the most consistent club.
While the Bunbury Triathlon Club took out the regional award winning the Clive Choate Regional Shield.
