SA premier Peter Malinauskas and wife Annabel welcome baby boy

The 4.14 kilogram bundle of joy was born on the afternoon of November 16 and Mr Malinauskas said his wife and newborn were "doing very well".

The parents settled on George Robert Malinauskas despite jokes about naming the baby after Port Adelaide AFL star Connor Rozee.

"We feel so incredibly fortunate," he said in a post to X on November 20.

"Thanks so much to all the medical staff who have assisted George and Annabel, particularly Dr Chris Sexton who has done an amazing job delivering all our children," he said.

"Family is everything."
