BUNBURY parents and school leavers are warned not to fall for scam Facebook pages which offer refunds for the Leavers 2012 wristband.
Police have been advised of pages claiming leavers can receive a full or partial refund if they provide their personal and bank details.
“These are not legitimate offers and leavers should avoid putting such information which could be then used to steal money from their accounts,” a police spokesman said.
“Anyone who has provided such information should immediately advise their financial institution.”
Police advised there would be no refunds offered as “event and support services were extended beyond the original planned dates at both Dunsborough and Rottnest Island”.
Disappointed teens demanded refunds after many events were cancelled due to the stormy weather.
Bunbury school leaver Katerina Kalkandis said she paid $100 dollars for a Dunsborough Zone wristband she did not use.
She said all her friends were upset at the cancellations and she was denied entry when she tried to visit them at a caravan park.
“Thousands of other kids were wandering aimlessly around town,” Miss Kalkandis said.
