THE City of Busselton and Shire of Augusta Margaret River had a special visit from the Governor General of Australia on Sunday.
Her Excellency Quentin Bryce arrived at the Busselton Airport in the morning where City councillors gave her a quick tour of the town.
The Goose Restaurant hosted a community function for the occasion where Her Excellency spoke about how beautiful the area was.
"This is my first time in Busselton and I love how the ocean shows off the beautiful blue colours," she said.
She talked about how great it is for coastal residents to be able to dive into the ocean and walk along the beach every day.
"And it is great to see the young nippers out as well," she said.
After the function Her Excellency received a scenic tour to Margaret River stopping off at Dunsborough, Meelup and Yallingup along the way.
