A MANDURAH woman whose dogs are lucky to be alive following a baiting attempt has spoken out to warn others.
Mother of two Casey Reany was sitting outside on Friday evening when something disturbed her two American staffy pups.
On investigation, Ms Reany found a man walking down her driveway and away from her Meadow Springs property.
She also found a piece of cooked steak studded with snail pellets left by the gate.
Luckily, Ms Reany found the steak before the dogs did, but she is concerned it could happen again.
“I was so shocked,” she said.
“I saw the man in my driveway and the dogs were acting really weird.
“Then I found the steak.”
Ms Reany called police immediately after the incident.
She also alerted the RSPCA and local rangers.
The dogs had been the target of a baiting attack just two weeks earlier with both of them rushed to the vet after eating snail pellets.
Ms Reany now says enough is enough.
We've never had a complaint about our dogs.

“We have never had a complaint about our dogs,” she said.
“They bark, but they’re guard dogs; that’s what they’re supposed to do.”
Since the frightening incident Ms Reany and her husband had installed security cameras and were on the look out for the person they believe was responsible for the attempted poisoning.
“We’re all losing sleep,” she said.
“My biggest concern is everyone else in the community.
“They need to be aware this is happening.”
Police are investigating the matter.
