Police are investigating the theft of 54 railway detonators from a vehicle parked in the southern Perth suburb of Parmelia overnight on Monday.
Police spokesman Samuel Dinnison said that if not handled carefully, the explosive items could detonate and potentially cause serious injuries.
“They were being carried in a silver carry case marked ‘Railway Track Detonators’ and ‘Explosives’," he said.
The car the explosives were stolen from belong to a person who uses them for work.
If anyone sees the items, police advise not to touch them but contact them immediately on 131 444.
